​Sammye is the Traditional Service Music Director/Chancel Choir Director – for the past 21 years. She is also
a Sunday School teacher in the Dewey Ryan Class and a UMW Night Circle member.

Sammye grew up in a Christian home in East Gadsden and was saved at an early age. She is a graduate of Samford University School of Music(B.A.) and Jacksonville State University(Master's) with post-graduate work at UAB and the University of Georgia. She also is the Hokes Bluff High School Librarian and Choral Director (She also has taught English, Speech, Music and Art Appreciation). Sammye is a member of the Pilot Club of Gadsden, a community service organization specializing in helping people with brain related diseases and disorders (such as Alzheimer’s, strokes, developmentally disabled) and the High school sponsor of the Anchor Club – the youth division of Pilot International. She is also a member of the National Storytelling Network and the Southern Order of Storytellers.

Her church family IS her family(as she always says) – other than a spoiled rotten, center-of-the-universe kind of dog named Rappy.
